Description

The following dashboard provides information on unemployment and inequality data for the United States.

Unemployment rates can shed light on the economy's overall health and other labor market conditions. The data below depicts unemployment rates for the United States from 1973 to the present, separated by race and gender.

The Gini index (US), average hourly earnings (US), and income inequality data (for select US cities) depict information regarding economic inequality.

The Gini index can provide quick information on economic and social inequality. The average hourly earnings chart offers information on the average standard of living. Income inequality data shows disparities among people living in the same geographic region.
