Unemployment Rate: percentage of people in the labor force who don't have a job and are looking for one. Data are from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and are seasonally adjusted.

Nonfarm payroll: gauge of month-to-month change in the number of jobs across the state. In addition to farm work, the counts exclude the self-employed, military/intelligence, and non-profit employers. Data are from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and are seasonally adjusted.

Manufacturing payrolls: Number of people employed in the manufacturing sector as reported by establishments in Tennessee. Data are from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and are seasonally adjusted.

Real Gross Domestic Product: inflation-adjusted measurement of the value of the good and services produced in Tennessee annually. The data are from the US Bureau of Economic Analysis and are presented in 2017 dollars.
